Mumbai – While Bollywood hunk Hrithik Roshan ranked as the sexiest Asian man of the year 2012 by the Eastern Eye Weekly, Pakistani singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar has grabbed the fifth spot and Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has landed number sixteen. In a survey conducted by the weekly, Hrithik and the Pakistani stars beat some ‘heavyweights’ and emerged as winners in the 50-strong list.

Actor Shahid Kapur was the surprise runner-up, with Shah Rukh Khan claiming the third spot and Salman Khan the fourth position.

Indian batsman Virat Kohli was at 18. Other names included Abhishek Bachchan (17), Prateik Babbar (20), John Abraham (7), Akshay Kumar (9), Arjun Rampal (11), actor Imran Khan (12), Saif Ali Khan (13), Riz Ahmed (21), Siddhartha Mallya (31), Mahendra Dhoni (33), Aamir Khan (35) and Zaheer Khan (39).

Veena Malik has finally managed to make her debut in Bollywood with a spicy item number for Riteish Deshmukh-Genelia D’Souza starrer, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya directed by Mandeep Kumar. Though this is her first item song, she feels that it was just the right one for her.

She says, “I had many offers but I wanted to pick the best one. This song is spicy and goes perfectly with my personality, at least I feel that. I hope its the right decision. Enjoyed doing it is an understatement.”

When questioned about the reaction of the people of Pakistan on her gyrating on a spicy song, Veena says that they would love her all the same. “They love me. I’m their favourite child,” she said.

She added that there’s no concept of item numbers in Pakistan, “There are hardly any films being made in Pakistan at the moment. Hope that changes soon.”

The Ari Roland Quartet ARJQ returns to Pakistan to jazz alongside popular Pakistani band, Fuzon and announced that they would perform at two concerts over the next five days in the city.

Both bands are currently working towards a friendship song. Music and lyrics are given by Fuzon, while the musical arrangements will be the result of a collaboration between the two resulting in a meld of eastern and western musical composition for this “friendship song”.

Farhan Saeed has left JAL the band. But this hasn’t broken JAL, as the founder of the band Goher Mumtaz still wants to keep the band alive and moving ahead.

The popular singer of Pakistan, Ali Zafar has been chosen as The Hottest new face of 2010 (male) by a poll conducted by Times of India. Round about 3.43 lakh Indians voted in this poll and chose Ali Zafar as the Hottest New male of 2010.
